Our Instagram hit 10k

With great power comes great responsibility

I hope your summer has been chill (metaphorically) despite the heat waves and, here in the US, the cyclosporiasis outbreak.

(By the way, if you are looking for reliable, authoritative information on that, may I recommend Your Local Epidemiologist?)

For me, the parasitic chaos has been a fun time to get back into roasting veggies — something I did a lot of in grad school that gave me a lot of peace. I’m excited to bring it back, even in the summer heat. :-)

Anyway, last time we chatted, I was having fun watching the World Cup and researching science in the Epstein files.

Because of that, it’s been a very productive month.

This month, on our blog, I talked about my paper-and-pencil approach to research as well as Al Seckel, Epstein’s friend who, like him, tried to hobnob with scientists.

I also got into some tougher questions on our blog.

I was surprised to uncover yet another MIT researcher (who is no longer there, however, due to a whistleblower who worked for him) who purportedly visited the Epstein ranch. I also mused about whether the fact that so many MIT peeps either visited Epstein in jail, on his island, or on his ranch had anything to do with my prompt exit from science.

On Instagram, we hit 10,000 followers (currently, we’re sitting at 10,298, to be precise) after I published two reels about evil neuroscience in the Epstein files. You can watch Part 1 and Part 2 on our IG.

“I don’t know how you’re doing this,” someone told me on Instagram. “This stuff is really heavy.”

Yeah, it is. I like to write about heavy topics, though. Check out the article I just published in NonDoc about researchers in Oklahoma working on a noninvasive cure for treatment-resistant depression.

The chaos is where all the action is…it’s where we can do our best problem-solving. So, despite it all, we persevere…to help make the world better, however we can.
